FDA issues warning about devices bearing false COVID-19 claims
The FDA has sent warnings to 25 manufacturers, distributors and sellers directing them to refrain from issuing certificates that falsely claim the agency has approved medical devices for use during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to MedTech Dive. The FDA maintains an online listing of products that have received emergency use authorization and has created a new webpage with insight to help consumers spot false claims being made, which may include so-called FDA registration certificates and the FDA logo.
