COURSE DESCRIPTION/ EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Bone grafting has become a prevalent procedure in dentistry, offering numerous clinical applications. This comprehensive lecture will encompass the fundamental techniques of bone grafting, progressing to more intricate grafting procedures.
An array of diverse grafting materials will be introduced, accompanied by a thorough case review.  Participants will gain insights into the profound impact of bone grafting on the success of dental implants, while also discerning when bone grafting is not deemed essential.

Objectives
- Understand the different grafting techniques available
- Select the appropriate grafting materials for different situations
- Identify indications of poor success of grafting
- Consider procedures used to avoid grafting
- Identify grafting options for straightforward and complex cases

SPEAKER

David Jurman, DDS, MD, FACS

Dr. Jurman received his DDS from Stony Brook School of Dental medicine in 2000 and his MD from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 2003. At Mount Sinai he interned in the Medical School Oral Surgery program from 2000-2003, General Surgery Intern from 2003-2004, and Chief Resident of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical Program from 2004 to 2006. He became Board Certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2008. He currently practices at Leading Edge Oral Surgery. He is a member of the ADA, NYSDA, NCDS, NY Oral Surgery Society, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons. He is also a Lieutenant in the US Naval Reserves and has affiliations with Northwell LIJ, Plainview, and Manhasset Hospitals.
