COURSE DESCRIPTION/ EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

The first part of this seminar will focus on the numerous components of an associate contract and the need to have appropriate legal representation prior to signing these documents. Topics such as compensation models, benefits, duties and obligations, contract termination and restrictive covenants will be covered.

Part two of this presentation will expose the young dentist to the myriad components of the New York State Employment Law. Topics such as harassment, PTO, FEMLA, employee benefits, hiring and firing, pregnancy & maternity leave and discrimination will be discussed.

This is critical information for young dentists to know in either their role as employer or employee.

Jennifer Kirshenbaum, Esq.

Jennifer Kirschenbaum, Esq. is the managing partner of Kirschenbaum & Kirschenbaum, P.C.'s healthcare department. After bringing healthcare to Kirschenbaum and Kirschenbaum, P.C. in 2008, Jennifer has grown the firm's healthcare department to represent over 1200 practices, Article 28 facilities, IPAs and small to mega-group private practices. K&K's healthcare department represents MDs, DOs, DPMs, DDS, DMDs, DCs, PTs as well as other practitioners. Jennifer operates the healthcare department in conjunction with the other practice areas of law at the firm. Jennifer is proud to serve as one of NCDS’s attorneys.
