COURSE TITLE
"When Things Go Wrong: A Review of Procedural Complications and Medical Emergencies"
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES AND GOALS
This presentation will review common procedural complications and their management. An array of complications will be discussed, from post-surgical bleeding to treating patients on bisphosphonates to dealing with post-operative pain. Stepwise treatment algorithms will be offered for many common complications and patient management issues seen on a routine basis in our offices. This lecture will also review common medical emergencies, focusing on appropriate diagnosis and current best practice management techniques. Common medications, therapeutics and devices used in managing complications and emergencies will also be reviewed. This presentation will hopefully serve to better all attendees’ understanding of common complications and emergencies, and how to effectively manage them.
