CDC revises guidance for fully vaccinated health care professionals; no changes yet to PPE recommendations
Though most recommendations for health care settings remain unchanged, the CDC recently released updated select infection control recommendations pertaining to fully vaccinated health care professionals, ADA News reports. Those who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 do not need to take part in routine health care facility screening of asymptomatic personnel, and fully vaccinated asymptomatic individuals who have experienced higher-risk exposures do not need to be restricted from work for 14 days. Symptomatic health care professionals should be tested for infection regardless of whether they have been vaccinated, and all travel recommendations and personal protective equipment guidance should continue to be followed by all health care professionals.
