COURSE DESCRIPTION/ EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

This course will deal with the step by step process of purchasing a practice, from finding the right office to evaluating the practice to negotiating a contract and purchase price. The role and responsibilities of the practice broker, the banker, the accountant and the attorney will be reviewed and discussed.

David Barry

• Over 20+ years working in the financial services industry, combined with 4 years of healthcare product and equipment distribution and over 13 years in the Healthcare Practice Solutions Group.  Dave provides the unique ability to select customized solutions for doctors seeking practice financing.
• 20+ years of sales and operations management experience
• Former U.S. Army officer
• Have provided acquisition loans, expansion loans, multiple practice owners, buyin/buyout, equipment, real estate and working capital to hundreds of Doctors in his role as a Healthcare specialist.

Dr. Andrew Rutman

A 1982 graduate of NYU College of Dentistry, Dr. Rutman is a general dentist with over 42 years of clinical and managerial experience in general practice, restorative and cosmetic dentistry, and the dental insurance industry. He has been a dental practice broker for US Dental Practices since 2020 and has been a dental claims reviewer for various dental plans for over a decade.

Stephanie Rodin, Esq.

Starting from a young age, Ms. Rodin has been exposed to the healthcare industry, specifically dentistry, as her father was a periodontist on Long Island, where she worked at while growing up.  Rodin Legal, P.C. concentrates on assisting individual and multi-member healthcare practices to ensure their legal protection and profitability from formation until retirement. From setting up the right legal entity to employment contracts and asset-purchase agreements, Rodin Legal, P.C. is the legal resource to inform practices on how to best protect themselves during their expansion and growth, reduce or avoid audits and run a practice with limited risk. Ms. Rodin has been practicing law since 2000 and her firm handles legal matters in the following States: NY, NJ, CT and FL.
