COURSE DESCRIPTION/ EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Considerations when looking to enter a partnership or practice purchase: In this seminar, we will explore the myriad items to consider when looking for a partnership or practice buyout. From a tactical approach, evaluating the practice philosophy, the business model, the physical office layout, practice style & culture are some of the topics that will be discussed as well as financial considerations and implications.

SPEAKER
James Fitzgerald, DDS

Dr. James J. Fitzgerald attended St. John’s University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Magna Cum Laude in 1981. Following college, he graduated from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1985 and then completed a one year post graduate GPR program at Peninsula Hospital Center.

Dr. Fitzgerald has been practicing all aspects of general dentistry for over 39 years, with a focus on Restorative, Implant and Esthetic Dentistry. Since he began practicing, he has taken over 2200 hours of continuing education studying at the renowned L.D. Pankey Institute, The Dawson Academy and the Spear Institute. He has been awarded Fellowships in the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the Long Island Academy of Dentistry. He is also the Program Director of the General Practice Dental Residency Program at One Brooklyn Health which includes Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, Interfaith Medical Center and Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.                                                                                                           

Dr. Fitzgerald has been a member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association and the Nassau County Dental Society for almost 40 years. He has held countless positions and served at the national, state and local levels of these organizations. He was the Chairman of the Greater Long Island Dental Meeting in 2023 and was the President of the Nassau County Dental Society in 2007. He currently serves on its Executive Committee, the Board of Directors and Chairs the Membership Committee. His passion is in the role of mentor for the young dentist. It is in this capacity that he has the opportunity to inspire, motivate and educate students, residents and the newest members of our profession. His ongoing desire is to share knowledge, experience and insights to new dentists to help them develop leadership skills and business acumen while navigating the profession.

Pre-registration is required for all courses. Payment is due upon registration (where applicable). Refunds will be issued if we are notified more than 24 hours prior to the event start time; credits for future courses will not be provided. The schedule is subject to change.

 Registration Closes at Midnight 2/6/25.   However, being an In-person course, registration may close earlier if room capacity is reached.
