COURSE DESCRIPTION/ EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

This course explores concerns Endodontists have when teeth are restored following root canal treatment. We will show a series of Endodontically restored teeth and reasons for their success and failure. The aim of this course is not to dictate your restorative choices, but to guide the dentist to avoid the most common mistakes we see every day as full time practicing Endodontists.

Dr. Al Granger
Dr. Chris Ammons

Dr. Granger is a graduate of Howard University College of Dentistry class of 1987 and the post Graduate Endodontic program at Columbia University class of 1993. In 2007 he completed the Implant Maxi Course at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Granger is very involved in the community and the dental society. He served as a City Councilman for the City of Glen Cove, N.Y. from 1994 to 2005 and presently serves on the Board of Trustees for Elizabethtown College and the North Well Hospital System. Dr. Granger was President of the Nassau County Dental Society in 2012. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Pierre Fauchard Dental Honor Society. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, the New York State and Nassau County Dental Societies the National Dental Association and the American Association of Endodontists.

Dr. Ammons obtained his Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Prior to that, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Chicago State University. After completing dental school, he pursued further education and training by completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at NYU Langone Dental Medicine (formerly known as Lutheran Medical Center) and a General Practice Residency at Harlem Hospital Center in New York City. Dr. Ammons practiced general dentistry in multiple underserved communities in the New York Metropolitan Area including the Bronx, Harlem, and Queens. After practicing as a general dentist, he obtained his certificate in Endodontics and Master of Science degree in Endodontics from University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry at Chapel Hill. Dr. Ammons is currently a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontics, Tar Heel Endodontic Association (North Carolina), New York State Dental Association, and Nassau County Dental Society.
