Changes to Continuing Education Registration as NCDS Rolls Out Aptify
In June 2017, the Nassau County Dental Society implemented Aptify as our new membership database software. The American Dental Association has been rolling out this software nationwide since 2014 in an effort to increase member service on the front end and to allow for more integrated and efficient member records management on the back end. As a result of the switch to this new membership record system, the registration process for continuing education courses will change.
When dentists and staff register for continuing education courses, their registration and payment information (if applicable) will be processed through a web portal to Aptify. When you click on the hyperlink to register through an email notification or from the published course listing on our website’s calendar, you will be directed to an ADA web page where you will be required to log in.
The user ID for dentists is their ADA number. All U.S. dentists and dental students, regardless of membership status, have a pre-existing account. Therefore, please do not set up another account. If you do not remember your account information OR have never set up a password, please call 1.800.947.4746 or 312.440.2500 for assistance.
Non-dentists can create an account to purchase products or register for a course. Non-dentists will not be assigned an ADA number.
For Members: Logging In to ADA.org for the First Time
Even though this is your first time logging into an ADA website, you do not need to create a new account. Whether you're a dental student, practicing dentist or retiree, your nine-digit ADA member number will serve as your User ID and allow you to begin the login process.
Step 1: On the page titled “ Password/User ID Help,” enter your ADA member number into the field titled “User ID.” (Note: Your ADA member number is on your ADA member card. If you do not know your member number, you can either call or email the ADA Member Service Center (MSC) to obtain it. The MSC is available between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Central time on weekdays. Step 2: Click on the “Submit” button, which will allow to begin the process of creating a password.
Step 3: You should now be prompted to answer your security question. While this is your first time logging into ADA.org, a default security question will already be in place for you. Once you have successfully logged in, you can create a new security question.
Step 4: After correctly answering your security question, you will be able to create a password for your account. Please note that all ADA passwords must contain at least
- Eight characters
- One uppercase letter
- One lowercase letter
- One number
This will complete your process of logging into ADA.org and other ADA websites.

If you need a new ADA membership card, please contact the Member Service Center. Once your request has been submitted it will take 7-10 business days to receive your card in the mail.
